1，楼主的原句没有“to you”.

2，get somewhere 是一个习语，取得进展的意思~~

you tell me to never give up.
不要to you 或者you tell me not to give up
I'll try my best to get somewhere in my study and life to make you proud of me.
不知道那个Somewhere是想表达什么意思 I'll do my best in both study and life so that you'll be proud of me.

第一个句子，最好改成：you tell me never to give up.

第二个句子是说得通的。
