在英语里，有一个词，专门用来形容反对科技进步的人，叫luddite。1811年到1816年期间，一群英国工人发生暴动，捣毁了很多纺织机器，因为他们觉得，机械进步会减少就业机会。luddite这个词后来专门用来指反对技术进步的人。
美国前几年房地产市场火爆，很多新开发的房子都属于豪宅一类。有人觉得，这种房子其实并不实用。
